Caramelised onions

Ingredients

  • Onions
  • 20g butter
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  • cut onions into thin slices

In a pan

  • add oil and butter
  • wait till it's hot before adding onions
  • add salt (helps to remove water from the onions)
  • stir every few mins so that it doesn't stick (burn)
  • if it sticks too much, add a bit of water
  • cook for at least 30 mins, or until deep brown
  • add a bit of light soy sauce and cook it out
